Greenville has been working for years on the Cypress Preserve running along a bayou just on the edge of Greenville. The Greenville Garden Club began the project and they've had wonderful help from all sides. Recently the boardwalk and observation deck was completed and dedicated to a wonderful and very involved man, Bob Gramling. He worked tirelessy to develop the paths and promote the Preserve.
Tony and I walked those paths too this week and found it to be a beautiful, peaceful place to feel a part of nature. And what a wonderful place to walk for excercise! Flat - like the rest of the Delta - but so scenic! It's easy to get to...head west on Hwy 82 out of Greenville. Just past the Welcome Center (you can't miss the Center....it's a paddlewheel boat sitting in a "river" and full of information about the Delta) you will see a sign and a turning to your left. Pull into the parking area and take off walking! We loved it!
When you are in Greenville, don't miss seeing the Levee.....it's right downtown where the casinos are! That's a great place to walk too!
