B.B. King Homecoming Festival July 2 and 3.....FUN!

You've got to be in Indianola on the Fourth of July weekend!  Indianola is planning a huge festival this year to celebrate B.B. King coming home to Indianola and to his Museum......A two day Festival....this  year!

We're calling it B.B. King Homecoming Festival - Blues, Bikes and BBQ!...You can't beat that combination!  There will be a concert in Fletcher Park on Friday night, July 2nd, starting about 5:00 with great musicians playing, blues bands and of course B.B. will take the stage to complete the night of fun and music!

Then on Saturday, July 3rd...there is an all-day Festival around the Museum and downtown with a Memphis BBQ Network Sanctioned BBQ Contest and a Patio Division too for back yard BBQ chefs!  Wish Bobby Flay would come challenge one of our BBQ cookers to a Throwdown!  The BBQ contest area is going to be quite a sight and the smells.....I can't wait!  My nephew is coming from Boston to compete against his own daddy from Birmingham!  I'll really get to do some sampling as they gear up for the competition!  YUM!  Let me know if you want an application or go to www.IndianolaMs.org and ask for an application!  Team Indianola will take good care of you!

We're especially inviting individuals and biker clubs to rally in Indianola that day!  We'll have a great shady spot to park and listen to the music, visit the B.B. King Museum, eat some good BBQ or Fried Catfish, (or eat at The Crown with us, shop in our great stores and roam the HUGE Arts and Crafts Market on the Museum grounds and the adjoining area!  All the usual too....Poker run, etc.  Ya'll make your way to the Mississippi Delta for our Festival!

There is a great Children's area being planned with a bicycle and stroller Fourth of July Parade for the little people!  And the Arts and Crafts will truly be a spectacular display!  We've had a couple of Art at B.B.'s shows last year with artists from all over Mississippi showing their work!  July 3rd it will be HUGE....with craftsmen from all over the South!  Wood Turning, hand-made furniture, photographers, painters, potters!  If you would like to show that day too...just email or call for an application!  You just can't miss July 2 and 3rd in Indianola!  Keep reading my blog for more updates....and keep your eye on our The Crown page of www.tasteofgourmet.com for more informationa!
